Commodity Watch: Zinc Futures Rise On High Demand

New Delhi: Zinc prices on Thursday rose 15 paise to Rs 256.20 per kilogram in futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for June delivery traded higher by 15 paise or 0.06 per cent at Rs 256.20 per kg with a business turnover of 1,709 lots. Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
Copper futures gain on spot demand
Copper futures rose 0.24 per cent to Rs 862.85 per kilogram on Thursday due to higher spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for June delivery climbed Rs 2.10 or 0.24 per cent to Rs 862.85 per kg in a business turnover of 5,270 lots.
Aluminium futures climb on fresh bets
Aluminium prices on Thursday rose marginally by 10 paise to Rs 239.80 per kilogram in the futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in June increased 10 paise or 0.04 per cent to Rs 239.80 per kg in 3,032 lots.
